Musicus Maximus

My hands are icky from chip-eating, I should really go wash 'em before typing all o'er Monsieur Toppy (otherwise known as my laptop).

I spent the evening getting to know all of my non-dnb records, mostly BPM-ing them, as well as doing some descriptive and evaluative work. I'm hoping to play some downtempo on Saturday night, you see.

When Terence got home, we totally geeked out hardcore, working out an insane mix using U.N.K.L.E.'s Rabbit in Your Headlights (3/4 time signature) and an SUV tune (starts in 3/4, ends in 4/4). I may even play it on New Year's Eve, and then after that, T and I will have to fight it out to see who gets to use it in their next mix-tape.

NYE Excitement

Guess who gets to play on New Year's Eve?
I do, I do!
Cue: nervous tummy, quiet elation.
It's going to be a wonderful evening - A quiet affair at my favourite restaurant, Clove (735 Denman): magical butter chicken, drinks, turntables, a small gathering of friends and friends of friends.

In celebration, today I spent $175 on records at Boomtown - and let me tell you, I found some true gems.

Commence List:

DJ Shadow - Remix LP
Air - Alpha Beta Gaga (M. Ronson rmx)
Roni Size - Brown Paper Bag Re-issue featuring pretty much the most wonderful remix ever created by Photek
Strike It Up 45 (impossible to resist, albeit utterly ridiculous)

And...
Wait for it...
Oh yes, oh verily yes:

Monday, December 19, 2005

This is it.

Off I go, to either a wonderful night of magic... or perhaps... my doom.
Just kidding. It's gonna be awesome, I'm so excited!

This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Sirens

You are invited to join the ladies of the Reverse Crew for a night of drum’n’bass and jungle celebrating the art of the siren. Featuring DJs Noradawn, MP Coast to Coast, Cheyenne and Socool, and MCs Ill-esha, Jomega and Kelly Daines. Dec 19 at Honey. Tix $6 ($4 with non-perishable food donation) at the door. 9pm - 1am, info

Stop by to enjoy a warm holiday environment sure to make waves with oceanic drum'n'bass sounds, sweltering lyricisms, and hot drinks.

This will be my first time playing out (officially). You owe it to yourself to stop by and giggle at my shakey hands and "nervous face."

Radio Escapade(s)

I just played on Shadow Jugglers!
It's MP's radio show on CITR 101.9 fm, Saturday nights 7-9pm.
DJ Soo and I were the guests tonight, and Laurel joined us in the house to provide inspiring artwork and awesome vibes.
Hey, speaking of awesome, my half-hour set was pretty much the best half hour of my life.

This is it, right. This is for me. Having this in my life is so incredibly wonderful... It makes me feel so alive, and as though being alive is such a treat.
